Laser Tattoo Removal

Q-switched Nd YAG laser

Your tattoos will, to some extent, fade with time, but normally remain in your skin forever. To remove tattoos permanently, we use laser removal machine Dermway-1 Q-switched Nd.YAG. During the procedure, laser rays, after being absorbed in the paint particles, "bomb" these particles into tiny pieces. First, we can destroy layers of the tattoo which are closest to the skin surface. Absorption of laser rays and skin regeneration takes about 4 to 6 weeks. Following this period of time, we can proceed to remove paint particles from deeper layers of the skin, until all the particles have been destroyed. Approximately 5 to 15 laser removal sessions are required for your tattoo to be removed permanently. The procedure is slightly unpleasant, also because your skin surface will be wounded during the treatment. A little pain can also be experienced, this depends on how thick your skin is on the treated area, on which part of your body the tattoo is and, of course, on how deeply it had been "carved" into your skin.

Before the treatment

Preceding the treatment, hydrate richly for a few days the area to be treated, so that your skin is soft on the day of the treatment. The softer your skin, the lower the chances for scars, which affects how long healing will take. Should your tattoo be covered in hair, please shave that hair the day before the treatment in order to achieve maximum efficiency when using the laser light.

During the treatment

You will experience warmth and pricking on your skin during the treatment. In order to achieve lasting impact, parameters will need to be precisely set before we start. So our expert will carefully define the parameters which correspond to the type of your skin and your tattoo, before proceeding with the actual treatment. You will be required to give accurate feedback to our expert on what you actually feel. Should the pain that you experience reach a high level, you will need to communicate it immediately. We have means to cool and sooth the treated area right after you have felt the pain.

Side effects

For a period of a few hours or days after the treatment, you may experience rosacea, swelling, blisters and dot-like bleeding on the surface of your skin. Should you have a burning feeling in the site of the treatment or even inflammation, we recommend taking antiphlogistic antibiotics or using a silver-colloid ointment (e.g. Laluset). Rosacea may remain on your skin for 3 or 4 days, that is until the end of the healing process. In the active healing period, always keep the treated area clean. If you wear clothes over the site of treatment, covering it up with clingfilm might be a good idea. However, as soon as you arrive home, you should remove the clingfilm, as inflammation heals better when in contact with fresh air, and use Bepanthen ointment. Should inflammation be persistent for more than 7 days, please consult us immediately in person. After complete healing, you can remove all bandages from your skin, but make sure to continue to use sunscreen spf 50.
