Chamomilla (or Chamomile) comes from the Chamomile plant and has been used since ancient times for its wound healing properties, disinfecting effect and pleasant scent. Due to the high concentration of blue azulene and bisabolol, the oil has calming and soothing properties. Furthermore, it contains numerous flavones and flavonols. These are bioactive substances found in plants, vegetables and fruits. They serve as powerful antioxidants. Chamomile is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antipruritic. It can be used for eczema, allergic skin reactions, dry skin, sunburn and skin irritation (e.g. due to radiation therapy).
